Episode Notes

Emotional // Sources of Emotions

1. Who is writing your playbook?

Jeremiah 17:9a NIV

The heart is deceitful above all things…

Galatians 5:16-18 NIV

16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

2. Do you see your role on the team?

1 Corinthians 12:12;14;18-20 NIV

12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

1 Corinthians 12:21-22 NIV

21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,

1 Corinthians 12:25-27 NIV

25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

3. Whose voice/opinion are you valuing most?

Jeremiah 31:3 NIV

3 The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

Romans 5:6;8 NIV

6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
