Episode Summary

Summer in the Psalms // Desperate for Jesus Pacific Coast Church Guest Speaker Dr. Ken Ecker

Episode Notes

Psalm 42:1 NIV 1 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.

We need to be desperate for God.

Psalm 42:1 NIV 1 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.

Luke 15:13-16 NIV 13 Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. 14 After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

We need to be desperate for His presence.

Psalm 84:1-3 NIV 1 How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! 2 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God 3 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young—a place near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King and my God.

We need to be desperate for His Spirit.

Ephesians 1:13-14 NIV 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
